not yet - I got a little consumed by MLB. But I do plan to get back to it. I also finally tried out Far Cry 2 - it seemed OK like I would play it if I didn't have anything else to play but it didn't grab me for sure. Also tried out a few of the other PS+ freebies that were decent but can't recall the names.

I remember one of the freebies - it was called Shank - Shank 2 I think. It was pretty good. Decent fun for a little 3D platformer shoot 'em up/beat 'em up type of game.
I played some more Vegas last night. I decided to just strike out on foot and see where it lead me and after being killed a few times by some giant bumblebee looking things I went a different direction and came upon the NRC Correctional Facility or something like that - basically now the headquarters for the Powder Gangers. They were being jerks and I knew they were killers and assholes anyway so when they got in my face I started killing them and basically didn't stop until they were all dead. Probably like 30 or so of them. There was a mission in there somewhere that I nixed by killing them all because I saw it get eliminated before I even had a chance to see what it was (I Fought the Law) but screw it it was fun taking out those jerks.
The stupid thing is that when I would sneak up behind them and knife them in the throat or blow them up with TNT my karma went up - presumable because I was killing bad guys. But when I stole their stuff or picked their locks my karma went down because I dared to steal from those same bad guys. That's stupid - points given for killing them but points taken away for robbing them.

That is kind of dumb. They didn't think that through very well. I say steal away.
Vegas has all kinds of factions out there that you can side with or against. Sometimes when you side with one, another faction then shuns you.
The NCR (New California Republic) seems to be the main faction in this game and they are at odds with the local chapter of the Brotherhood of Steel (the good guys from FO3) among others.
Watch those bumblebees. They suck.
I tried Shank a little. Decent game. I haven't gone back to it yet though.

I've been playing more New Vegas. Somewhere along the way I unlocked a perk where all locations show up on my map, so I can see exactly where I haven't been. Ive been going around to all of those places and there are a bunch of missions I never ran.
Are any of the songs starting to drive you mad yet? I like most of them but like FO3, they get pretty repetitive after a while.
Personal faves: Ain't That a Kick in the Head? Big Iron Johnny Guitar Goin' Under Love Me As Though There Was No Tomorrow.

I've been playing it again too. I'm much more willing to explode people's heads in this one than I was in FO3. Yes all the music is driving me mad - I don't know why I don't just turn the damn radio off but I don't. I do like those songs that you listed as personal faves and actually I was already a big fan of Kick in the Head before I even played the game since I am a bit of a Deano fan, but a little more variety would be nice.

You know, while wandering around the map, I just encountered the Powder Gangers inside the NCR Correctional facility. I had never previously been there.
Since I'm vilified amongst that faction, I had to go ahead and kill everyone.

that's funny since that was one of the first places I stumbled upon when I first left Goodsprings and of course I totally slaughtered them all. Those idiots are so easy to kill they should really tone down the smack talk because they really just beg for it.

Well after pumping probably around 20+ hours into FONV I finally got around to actually heading into the Strip and ran into Benny in the Tops Casino. He wanted to chit chat and slime his way out of it but nah I killed him with my trusty knuckles which of course set of the body guards and had a domino effect and I ended up having to pretty much kill everyone in the casino. I went back and tried it the other way out of curiosity and of course he screwed me and got away and I chased him into Caesar's territory which didn't sit well with me so I just stuck with my first way where I killed him.
So I wanted to reel it back in a little so I went to Gomorrah and tried some gambling and hookers which was a nice change. But then that jerk Cachino or whatever his name basically forced me to turn his ass into the bosses who killed him. Then they wanted me to help those other 2 dudes which I would have done if it was just halfway decent mercenary work but no one dude was going to kill a bunch of folks with a chlorine gas bomb and the other was a scumbag killer too so... I had to kill them. Which of course set off the whole casino against me and yep and I had to kill them all. So now I'm basically the scourge of the Strip I guess.
So then I went back over to the Lucky 38 and didn't like the way Mr. House was ordering me around and was very suspicious so instead of giving him the platinum chip he called for his securitrons to kill me and of course I killed them all no problem. Then went down to the basement and killed the old bastard - not really on purpose but you know I opened his tank and exposed the fossil to the germs. Now of course there are tons of missions still left and I'm still going to keep playing but I gotta say that after I got my revenge on Benny and then took out the supposedly all-powerful Mr. House doing the rest seems rather anticlimactic and the urge to continue is definitely diminished. I still enjoy playing it but the incentive is just much less. Anyway I was curious - did you take Mr. House's deal for the platinum chip and then continue on with his upgraded securitrons? (I went back and tried the other way out of curiosity) - or did you kill his smug ass just like I did?
The only creature in this game that I STILL can't freaking kill are those damn DeathClaws. Those bastards are tough.

ah - I was looking at an old save file - I was actually 30+ hours into it. I thought 20+ seemed short. So NOW I'm about 40 hours into it and although I still have plenty of missions to do I am starting to get that same feeling I got on Fallout 3 when I was about 40 hours into that one. That it might be time to start wrapping it up pretty soon. I will say one thing about these FO games - they are addictive. I sit down and when I stop playing I have accidentally played it practically all day!

I've played through the ending a few different ways.
I did kill Mr. House. Have you run across the Yes Man?
Have you had the battle at Hoover Dam or faced off against Caesar's army? If not, then there is still some good parts of the game left.
It sounds like you are basically kicking ass and taking names across the Mojave Desert.
The Deathclaws are the hardest foes to kill in the game. Even with a partner, you can't take them down very easily with any of the weapons. I usually aim for their legs to try to slow them down.

yeah, people definitely don't screw with me twice in the game. I ran into Caesar's army on the road and went to his fort down the river one time when I tried it without killing Bennie but I stopped that path because I really wanted Benny dead.
I know there is still a good amount of heavy content left and I still even have spots on my map I haven't visited even without the Explorer perk you got. I will keep playing but not sure for how much longer as my interest is beginning to wane. I could never be one of those guys that just plays WOW all the time and never plays any other games.
Where are you living? I took up residence in the Presidential Suite of the Lucky 38 and stocked that bad boy to the hilt with weapons and booze etc etc.
Did you have Raul as your companion? Any others? So far he has been my only one.

I too am living in the presidential suite of the Lucky 38, but I have about 10 different companions up there with me. You can only take one of them at a time with you though. My main one I use is a girl named Cass for no particular reason.

I think I remember running into a Cass somewhere. Well I have only had Raul by my side - and that guy is such a dead-eye pistol shot he really kicks ass. I don't even know if he can actually die I've only seen him knocked unconscious a couple of times by a Deathclaw and the Boomer artillery.

Yeah, I don't think the companions can be killed. Just knocked unconscious which they always seem to be against the Deathclaws.
